The NES Classic Mini will return to store shelves in June.

Nintendo recently announced on Twitter, however, that the NES Classic will be coming back.

As Nintendo itself puts it: "The classic NES is back in a familiar-yet-new form as a mini replica of Nintendo's original home console". The company then made a decision to stop the manufacturing of the micro-console, promising to be back soon.

The NES Classic (See on Amazon) launched in late 2016, instantly becoming a hit for the holiday season. Just don't confuse it with Nintendo's rumoured SNES Classic, the follow-up console. No date has been specified by Nintendo as of yet. This means no one should have any difficulty trying to locate either the NES or SNES Classic Edition at retailers. In addition, it will be released and another rare console not less popular SNES Classic.

Nintendo Switch Online - Nintendo Entertainment System games lineup Mon, May 7, 2018 NINTENDO Switch Online launches with a library of NES games. The demand for these dedicated retro mini consoles is huge. At the time of discontinuation, 2.3 million units had been sold.

The big question, of course, is whether or not there will be enough inventory on both Nintendo retro consoles to fill demand. Then again, after a long period of being left behind by other gaming console giants, Nintendo might have not exactly thought it would be this successful.
